Help with "Reset Forgotten Password" Mod

Unread post by ardiewen » Fri Sep 21, 2018 1:54 pm

Hi all,

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction with understanding what is required to make a modification to the default "reset forgotten password" functionality.

Current Behaviour:

1. User accesses DSM via a web browser
2. User clicks on "Forgot Password?"
3. User receives an email to reset the password with a system generated token
4. The email contains 3 links (internal ip address with port, external http with port, and external https with port) Desired Behaviour:

1. User accesses DSM via a web browser
2. User clicks on "Forgot Password?"
3. User receives an email to reset the password with a system generated token
4. The email contains only 1 link (external https without port) It appears that this is not possible wIthout some deeper customization. If we look at the settings available to us in DSM, we will see that the variable for generating these reset links not only contain the token, but also the URL (and all 3 of them at that).

We can see this by going to Control Panel -> Notification -> Advanced -> System -> Reset Forgotten Password and see that the variable %URL% is responsible for generating all 3 lines of text as mentioned in the Current Behaviour section.

Any advice on how to approach this would be greatly appreciated!
