SMB over OpenVPN not working

Unread post by seb2k » Sun Sep 16, 2018 10:41 am

Hi there,
System: DS718+
OpenVPN Settings (Config):

Code: Select all

dev tun
tls-client
remote x.x.x.x 1194
dhcp-option DNS x.x.x.x
pull
proto tcp-client
script-security 2
comp-lzo
reneg-sec 0
cipher AES-256-CBC
auth RSA-SHA256
auth-user-pass
VPN works but no connect to the DS via SMB. Local access to DS via SMB works.
Access to everything else within the VPN like RDP works fine.

Did I miss something?

Cheers
Sebastian

Can you ping your NAS to begin with after you connect to it via vpn? If you can then it could be some sort of a firewall problem. If you can’t try and add this to your config file:

Code: Select all

redirect-gateway def1
This will push all your network via a tunnel. Also have you setup to allow access to your LAN for VPN clients (via vpn configuration window)?
