Schedule script

Unread post by MiSu » Sun Aug 12, 2018 8:51 pm

Hello,
we've RT1900ac with SRM 1.1. I want to check regularly throughput of internet connection. I found python script which save actual data into csv file - it works perfectly but I couldn't schedule run this script for example every hour. Is it possible?
Thank for advice

As a side note, why not upgrading to the latest firmware "SRM 1.1.7-6941 Update 1" ??

What do you mean by "throughput of internet connection"?
Speed or data logs?

As for visited internet data, see following message and follow up messages:

Sorry - I've mentioned only major and minor version of SRM - of course I'm using last update (SRM 1.1.7-6941 Update 1).
I want to test bandwidth of my internet connection provider regularly - not monitor my clients.
For checking speedtest.net I use
https://pypi.python.org/pypi/speedtest-cli/

and I want to schedule it.

Sorry, I have no idea how to install third party apps within a Synology router, and if it shall work.

Don't know if the separate apps of Ookla speedtest do have possibilities to schedule speedtests automatically.
At least when you have an account, and do make your speed-tests manually, data is saved and are represented within graphical statistics.

The solution of my task is easy:
1) update /etc/crontab
2) restart
:D
