Bulk rename files

Unread post by wenweioneway » Tue Aug 07, 2018 12:39 pm

Hello I am new on Synology for my company.

I am organizing the files and want to bulk rename the files. Do you have any suggestions?

I downloaded Rename Master but it seems like it only works for local files on the computer.

Many thanks!

Advanced Renamer works well for me (Windows 8.1 x64).

Rename
Rename + Copy
Rename + Move

plus it has TV Series naming built in.

Or use PowerShell..

For example if you want to rename all .TXT files in a share and add a adding number to the file name:

Code: Select all

Get-ChildItem -Path \\NAS\share -Filter *.txt | select Fullname | ForEach-Object {
	$filenamepath = $_.Fullname
	$int = $int + 1
	$newfilename = "\\NAS\share\newfilename" + $int

	Rename-Item $filenamepath $newfilename

	Write-Host "$filenamepath has been renamed to: $newfilename
Something like that.
