How to Reboot Webserver ???

Unread post by Dark Shadow » Thu Jan 29, 2009 1:37 pm

With my older synos I would type the line:
/usr/syno/etc/rc.d/s97apache-user.sh restart
in the CMD window to restart the web server this doesnt seem to work with my DS-209+
any ideas what command will force a restart.

Thanks
Dark Shadow

Maybe some one else will hace this broblem someday the answer is simple it myst have been late at night when I was trying this.
On my DS-207 the line /usr/syno/etc/rc.d/s97apache-user.sh restart will force a restart
On the DS-209+ you must use /usr/syno/etc/rc.d/S97apache-user.sh restart
small difference but makes a big difference.
Hope someone else finds this of use.

Thanks Dark Shadow for sharing this!

On my DS-107+ I also needed to use a capital "S", so like this:
/usr/syno/etc/rc.d/S97apache-user.sh restart

Since Dark Shadow's DS-207 (same generation) uses the lower case "s" in the file name and mine doesn't, I guess that it has something to do with the specific version of Disk Station Manager. Mine is still on DSM 2.1-0832 (yup, I know it's old, but I didn't see new features yet that I really want).

So in case one doesn't work, try the other.
