MS SyncToy 2.1 - Safe or Sorry?

Unread post by tipsen » Mon Apr 26, 2010 12:21 pm

Hi all
Previously SyncToy 2.0 has problems with NAS'es according to Microsoft (risk of corrupting data). However a version 2.1 of SyncToy was released in November 2009 and apparently the issue has been solved by Microsoft. Is it safe to use SyncToy 2.1 with a Syno DS now or can I still run into problems? What is your experience?
Cheers, Tommy

I tried installing it and have synced a rather small folder with the NAS - haven't done any testing moving, erasing and creating files and I am a bit anxious about letting it handle my normal folders in view of the previous problems with corrupted data!

I tried it last night and it seemed to go well but I can't say definitely whether or not the few files were corrupted as I am still figuring this whole NAS thing out including getting stuff to play on my PS3.
