Unread post by qxue » Wed Feb 08, 2017 10:33 pm

I have upgraded the DSM to the latest, 2 WD red RAID1 and 1 WD no protection .
there's no NTP , DDNS and etc running.
Connected to ASUS rt87U with latest merlin firmware, manual static ip address
it wakes up every 107/108 minutes

the log didnt give much useful information

Thanks

I have the same problem with DS414. My log is even cleaner than yours, just contains the "wake up from deepsleep" notifications for all my disks.
I accepted that disk hibernation is too hard for Synology and they can't solve it. I keep my disks alive and shut down the NAS manually if I want my disks to "hibernate".

Disk hibernation is effected by a huge range of factors - everything from the services you run, to the applications installed, to your own network activity. Synology can't control the network activity and what devices talk to the NAS. They also can't control the behavior of 3rd party applications. Even for their own applications they have to be running in order for them to work. Thus, why they have a huge guide on hibernation that goes over these things. Depending on what you have installed, are doing on your NAS, and how your network is setup, you shouldn't expect hibernation in a lot of situations. Which is why NAS class disks and Enterprise class disks exist.

yes but Synology still have issues to fix for hibernation, yet they decide not too
