Surveillance station and ONVIF camera

Postby kimbray » Fri Jan 27, 2012 9:50 pm

Trying to get Surveillance station to recognize my IP camera. Camera supports ONVIF but not working.

http://www.heivision.net/index.php?ctrl ... oodsid=123

Need to understand how to connect a generic IP camera that supports ONVIF.

I can get it to at least see the camera now BUT it says "Failed to Load Camera Capabilities values" when I click next when adding a camera and it does not add it...

When I go to add a camera, I put in the IP address, the port, the type of camera Generic ONVIF with user name and password.

When I press test it finishes but I see broken picture image and no video. When I click NEXT it provides above error code.

What am I missing???

Hi,

I encounter the same problem with my all my ONVIF cameras.

I tested it on another NVR that supports ONVIF cameras and all are accepted correctly.

The problem is on the version of surveillance station from SYNOLOGY.

My DSM version : DSM 6.0-7321

And surveillance station version :7.2.1-4602

I have a similar issue. Since upgrading to Surveillance station 7.2, my ONVIF camera will no longer connect. I have tested it with an ONVIF client; it works fine that way.

What did version 7.2 break?

Count me in on this. I have 8 cameras total right now and only 1 of them, ACTi E77, was recognized by the software. The main camera I was wanting to test won't work at all but works great with any other software. I hope this gets corrected before I have to submit my recommendations. The one camera that works looks fine and the software seems pretty god overall.

Hi,
I'm also having this problem.
I just bought this camera: https://domar.com/zxtech-tropox-ii-2mp- ... escription
It supports ONVIF 2.0+ and I turned on ONVIF support in the http menu.
I can see the feed using Onvif Device Manager and it works fine.

Trying to add it in SS just gets me the "Failed to Load Camera Capabilities values" message. This is disappointing, as it was one of the reasons I bought this NAS.

http://www.onvif.org/ConformantProducts ... ducts.aspx

If the camera manufacturer isn't on this list there's no way to verify that the ONVIF standards are actually being followed. IMO it doesn't pay to buy unlisted cameras without first seeing verification from someone that it works.
