Can't upload large files via internet

Postby ralphwiggum » Fri Aug 18, 2017 7:50 am

Hi,
I own a DS414 which I reach from a domain.
It sits behind a nginx reverse proxy and the setting are these:

Code: Select all

server  {
  listen  443 ssl;   # Config for Synology
  server_name  synology.domain.se;

  error_log /var/log/nginx/dsm.error warn;
  access_log /var/log/nginx/dsm.access;

  # enable underscores in headers
  underscores_in_headers on;

  include /etc/nginx/snippets/strong-ssl.conf;
  ssl_certificate /etc/letsencrypt/live/domain/fullchain.pem;
  ssl_certificate_key /etc/letsencrypt/live/domain/privkey.pem;

  location  / {
      proxy_pass  http://frey:5000/;
          proxy_set_header Host                   $host;
          proxy_set_header X-Real-IP              $remote_addr;
          proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For        $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for;
          proxy_redirect                          off;
          proxy_buffering                         off;
  }
}

The problem is that when I try to upload large files via internet to the DS it uploads until it reaches 99% then it says that there is a problem with the network connection.
Is this a known problem? How do I fix it?

Thanks.

How exactly are you uploading this file? Via web gui using File Station, FTP, SFTP, any other way?

Think there were some posts on this matter or similar ones, but not sure. Try and search the forum a bit. Personally I rarely do this, but just tested with server GB large files and upload went without any problems. Not really sure why nginx proxy would cause any problems with this.

how large are these files

Anyway a bad idea, even on LAN. Use FTP to transfer a huge amount of data.

I am using a Company computer on which i cannot install an ftp client and this is an easy way to upload items to my file server.
Should be possible to do it with large files.

Seems the file does not have to be so large.
I now fail when trying with a 100mb file.
