Change owner on multiple folders

Unread post by mark80 » Tue Sep 26, 2017 2:24 pm

I got a new DS416play couple weeks ago. I installed everything and copied back the folders from my old DS209+ via the Synology Sync function between those 2 NAS devices.
Now I wanted to correct the folder/file owners. I noticed that in the old folders from the sync tool I can select multiple folders/files and change the ownership.

When I create a new shared folder and folders below, I do not have the option anymore. Only one one file / folder I can select the owner.

Was there a change in this?
How can I multiple change the owner from folders now?
Thanks a alot,
Mark

I had the same issue and found 2 ways to change it.

1. change the permission through properties of the folder
(Not always working for all files)

2. use ssh and chmod
- Enable ssh an make connection through putty
- use the command
sudo chown -R --from=admin iTDBuser /volume1/backup/Syno/
- If you don't use ssh disabled it
