How to send Synology the Kernel Log

Please perform the following steps to send us the kernel log file for your Synology product.
The Kernel log is a technical log file which can give us more technical information about your system

===================
For user using DSM 3.0 -1285 or above
1. Log into the DiskStation Manager as admin.
2. The URL will look similar to

Code: Select all

http://192.168.1.49:5000/webman/index.cgi

3. Add ?diagnose=debug to the URL so that-

http://192.168.1.49:5000/webman/index.cgi?diagnose=debug

4. Press Enter to save the file.

For users using DSM 2.1 -0803 or above
Works for Firefox 2, Internet Explorer 7, Safari 3
1. Login Management UI
2. You can see the similar link http://192.168.1.49:5000/webman/index.cgi
3. Add ?debug=1 to the link, like http://192.168.1.49:5000/webman/index.cgi?debug=1
4. Press "Enter", then the file can be downloaded.

For users using DSM 2.0-0571 or above
Works for Firefox 2, Internet Explorer 7, Safari 3
1. Login Management UI
2. You can see the similar link http://192.168.1.49:5000/webman/index.cgi
3. Add ?debug=1 to the link, like http://192.168.1.49:5000/webman/index.cgi?debug=1
4. Press "Enter", then the file can be downloaded.
5. Note: When sending the file, please rename it to msg.tar.gz.txt; otherwise it may trip a security warning message on our email server.

For users using 2.0.x-4xx or above
For IE 7
1. Login to the management UI with admin account.
2. Right click on any white spot in the right hand side and then choose the "Properties"
3. Copy the URL Link that is presented
4. Paste the URL Link in your address bar and add the suffix &debug=1
5. Press enter, and IE will present a prompt to save a .gz file. Save that file and send it to us.
6. Note: When sending the file, please rename it to msg.tar.gz.txt; otherwise it may trip a security warning message on our email server.
