Missing Windows folder attributes

Postby Schafkopf » Thu Dec 28, 2017 10:27 am

Hello!

We switched from an DS115 to a new DS218+.
The NAS is used to store Windows roaming profiles and user folders.

After the migration to DS218 the following problem occured:
The "read only" attribute cannot be set on folders. It only works on files.
Some other attributes (hidden, system...) are also working on folders, too. So no general problem.

As we are storing Windows profiles on the NAS and Windows has some default folders set to "R" - this settings are missing now.
Without the "R" attribute, the desktop.ini isn't considered, so folder icons are gone and the folder name isn't translated anymore.
So this is quite a huge problem, as it messes up the profiles.

What can I do, so that all attributes are working again?
The DS115 is not affected by this problem.

Thank you
Schafkopf
