Cannot map Synology in windows 10 - Device visible on network and in broswer

Unread post by simpleme » Sun Sep 03, 2017 4:39 pm

Hi,

I updated my PC to windows 10, and since then I am unable to access my Synology in windows explorer. When I 'map network drive' the message I get is "'The specified network name is no longer available".

However, when I go to network I can see my synology. Same when I type in local IP address of the device in internet explorer.

My synology is DS212j
firmware is Synology DSM 4.3

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Try logging in to Windows 10 using your full password (not Windows Hello or a pin) - that works for me! Bonkers. It didn't happen to me until I had to rebuild the PC so I guess that there IS a setting somewhere that gets round it.
