New user can't get iTunes server to work?

New user can't get iTunes server to work?

Hi All,

I just bought a new DS414j and I'm dismayed to find the iTunes sever doesn't work. I've read a few previous threads, unfortunately I can't tell if it would have worked on an older version of DSM/iTunes.

Steps I've tried
Disable diskstation firewall
Inspect iTunes server to be sure it is Running
Enabled Home Sharing on iPhone, Mac and Apple TV
Ensured audio files are visible in DS Audio
Ensured I can view the disk station web server & samba server from the Mac.

Can anyone suggest how to proceed to check if the server is available on the network?

Did you install the Media Server and iTunes Server Packages via the Package store and configure them?
