I have installed SabNzb, Couchpotato and SB on my 1511

Sab and Couch are started automatically, however, SB wont start automatically

When I use following command manually, it starts, when I put it in rc.local, it wont start

Code: Select all

/var/packages/sab2/target/utils/bin/python /volume1/@appstore/sickbeard/SickBear

Can anyone explain the difference between running it manually and putting it in rc.local?

Anyone got those 3 programs up and running automatically?

I have them all. This is what the last lines of my sabstart.sh look like:

Code: Select all

# start the thing
echo -n `/bin/date`>>$DIR/log/scripts.log;

echo ": Starting SABnzbd using IP address $IPaddr and port $port">>$DIR/log/scripts.log
$DIR/utils/bin/python $DIR/sab/SABnzbd.py -s ${IPaddr}:${port} -f $DIR/sab/sab.ini -d

echo ": Starting SickBeard..">>$DIR/log/scripts.log
/var/packages/sab2/target/utils/bin/python /volume1/@appstore/sickbeard/SickBeard.py --quiet &

echo ": Starting CouchPotato..">>$DIR/log/scripts.log
/opt/bin/python2.6 /volume1/@appstore/couchpotato/CouchPotato.py -d

To run it as a daemon:

Code: Select all

/var/packages/sab2/target/utils/bin/python /volume1/@appstore/sickbeard/SickBeard.py --quiet &

Why not starting together with SabNZBd? So you can start and stop it in the DSM package manager.

has anyone figured out how to get the sickbeard script to run in sabnzb in DM 3.1 beta.
Sickbeard gets nzbs just the script fails when processing the TV show(moving and renaming)
had it working before upgradeing to 3.1.
it seems i get better speeds with sabnzb in 3.1

One problem I have found after getting all the installs setup is getting my scripts setup correctly. All I want to get Sab to do is to start Couchpotato and Sickbeard.

Brickman, could you please explain what the following does as it seems to be messing up my startup script and I don't fully understand the call

Code: Select all

# Add CouchPotato to SABnzbd+ startup script (/var/packages/sab2/target/scripts/sabstart.sh)
echo -e "\n# start CouchPotato
echo -n \`/bin/date\`>>\$DIR/log/scripts.log;
echo \": Starting CouchPotato..\">>\$DIR/log/scripts.log
/opt/bin/python2.6 /volume1/@appstore/couchpotato/CouchPotato.py -d">>/var/packages/sab2/target/scripts/sabstart.sh

It writes the output to the startup file from sabnzbd (merty package).

Hmm.. I seem to have trouble with the startup script too.

I downloaded the sabstart.sh and the SickBeard.sh, but SB won't start with the service.. SAB will start fine.
If i try to change the sabstart.sh, it won't run SAB at all..

SB will start just fine using

Code: Select all

/usr/bin/python volume1/@appstore/sickbeard/SickBeard.py

I haven't installed any python, except for the one that comes with the sabnzb+ package.. maybe that's the problem?

Running the SickBeard.sh maunally gives me the following error:

Code: Select all

Reinhold-NAS> sh /volume1/@appstore/SickBeard.sh start
: not foundppstore/SickBeard.sh: line 13:
: not foundppstore/SickBeard.sh: line 16:
/volume1/@appstore/SickBeard.sh: line 18: syntax error: unexpected word (expecting "in")

thanks in advance.. :)

SickBeard works excellent on the new DSM 3.1. At least with build 1354, haven't tested the recently released 1594.

if you are getting stuck on "Starting sicbeard on ip:port" message,

remove the merty package and install SABnzbd mannually using IPKG. (like this thread viewtopic.php?f=27&t=7292)

mrwolf wrote:I'm having trouble getting SB up and running again on my DS210j. It was working well, but after I've updated to DSM 3.0, it stopped working...

I've updated SABNZB+ (0.5.4), and that's working now. However, SB won't work. I've read this thread, but can't figure out what exactly is causing this...

SB is installed on my USB-stick, and thus in the dir /volumeUSB1/usbshare/sickbeard/.

When I run '/opt/bin/python2.5 /volumeUSB1/usbshare/sickbeard/SickBeard.py' to see if I can get it running, I get the following result:

Code: Select all

DiskStation> /opt/bin/python2.5 /volumeUSB1/usbshare/sickbeard/SickBeard.py
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/volumeUSB1/usbshare/sickbeard/SickBeard.py", line 32, in <module>

    from _sqlite3 import *
ImportError: libsqlite3.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I've read something about updating python to 2.6, but how do I do this and does that solve my problem? I've tried ipkg update/upgrade, but python is not being upgraded.

I had the ame issue, fixed it by installing SABnzbdplus using IPKG instead of the Merty Package it uses a other version of Python for some models, so depending on your diskstation model you get a working or not working version of python for Sickbeard.

Good to know it worked, the beta of 3.1 i tried (not sure what the build was) the sickbeard script wouldn't run.

Anyone know if sickbeard works with the current release of 3.1?

I'm afraid it has more to do with the diskstation than the DSM, to know whether it will work or not. I have a DS-207+ with DSM3.1 and still sickbeard is not working. I tried different versions of python (the one with spk of sabnzbd, python2.5 & python2.6) and it doesn't seem to be working. I think it has something to do with these python packages not fully working anymore on these diskstations...Maybe somebody needs to pick it up with Synology but I don't know if they would want to look into it for this specific application not working.
