Best way to share photos/videos with family?

Postby oRBIT » Tue Apr 05, 2016 8:38 am

I'm still trying to figure out the best way to share my photos/homevideos with familymembers (in different locations).

* I've tried photostation. It's nice but I don't want my photos in "/photo/". Odd they haven't fixed this yet..
* I've tried Cloudstation, but I think I want the files stored on my NAS instead of local copies everywhere. Cloudstation doesn't seem to be able to resume downloads either so on computers with slow internet, you never get the files downloaded at all.
* I've tried Plex, but it's interface is not really suitable for parents. :)

Some kind of mapping (via WebDAV?) would be cool, but all WebDAV-software for Windows are way too slow to be of any use when it comes to photos and FullHD homevideos.

Anyone got a clever and simple solution?

Photo Station is really the best answer. It does exactly what you looking to do and is very easy to use. Not sure what the photo folder issue is.

Photostations biggest issue (for me) is that you need to have your photos in the /photo/ folder. I have my own custom photos-folders elsewhere.

I have had some success with creating symlinks in the /photos directories to my photo directories.
