Unread post by NASUSER123 » Wed Jun 13, 2018 2:43 pm

I have a big TV in my bedroom, but I don't have any cable or laptop.

Is there a way I can watch the world cup live stream through my Synology ?

No need to watch. The Netherlands are not there.
Please share if a reply was useful or how the issue was solved, it helps other DS users.

DS415+ (4TB HGST+ 4TB Seagate raid1 + 2*480GB SSD raid1), DS212+ (2*WD red 2TB), previous DS411J, DS106

Hi. Depends if your big TV is smart or not. If it smart and is capable of connecting to your home network via cable/Wi-Fi and can run apps then yes, it is possible. For example, you could download iPlayer app (check here https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/help/television_iplayer for compatibility), get a VPN that supports streaming (I use NordVPN), set it up on your router (tutorial here https://nordvpn.com/tutorials/synology-nas/openvpn/) and away you go.
