No, both versions use PostgreSQL, which connects over port 5432 if I'm not mistaken...

But be warned, If you corrupt your database, you'll probably brick your cube station. So Be very careful if you open up this database to be accessible from the web.

How strange. Port 5432 is not open on my router, but still i can see the downloads of my DS when i connect from work using cubedownloader... Sure it's 5432? And how well is this database secured? Can someone access and damage it using some default password?

Yes... the admin user (on you Cube Station) has a default password, so it is not very secure to make it accessible from the web.

[update]
I also found out what caused your other error... I made some very stupid mistake somewhere, and I've fixed it locally. I'll try to publish the fix tomorrow... (Because with a little luck the RSS-support is also done then... ;) )

Version 0.3 is now available for download.

*The Search-result bug has been fixed (stupid stupid me)
*The Clipboard-monitor has now some new preferences (thanx to some suggestions by björn! check it out, tell me what you think, it's still beta ;) )

RSS-feeds are getting more and more done, but were too buggy for this release...

Anyhow... Download CubeDownloader v0.3

Good work! One bug though:
I need to press ctrl-enter to add a new line for the clipboard monitor. When I just press enter the window closes :)

whoops..
I think i found another bug :S

My DS is downloading on my admin account, but Cubedownloader doesnt display the download... (logged in as admin) Also when i search i see in the statusbar that results are found but the window stays empty... I think maybe a layout error?

Hmmm... Very strange...
I built this setup in kind of a hurry, and didn't test it like I used to, and it seemed that Visual Studio corrupted some auto-generated files. Luckily I managed to fix it, so version 3.1 is now available for download.

(This by the way also fixes the enter-bug at the preferences screen.. That was too simple to fix ;) )

Download CubeDownloader v0.3.1

I'll keep you posted...

Can it be that you need to login as admin to get the downloads started? When i login as a different user, the files are added in the cue, and also put to the status 'downloading' but they never start..

btw. I discovered a new status in the proces: 104 - no acces to download folder :)

I have no idea to be honest. I haven't really tested it on a different user, so I have to check at home why that doesn't work and how to fix.

(And thanks for the new status code.... the list keeps growing ;) )

Version 0.4

Postby Flard » Sun Oct 14, 2007 7:16 pm

Yeah, a new version, after a hard weekend of developing:
Version 0.4!

First of all I renamed the application to "SynoDownloader", because it works on all Synology NAS products, not only the Cubestation.

I have also been offered sponsoring by the people from Mobile-Harddisk.nl. In return I added a link to their website at some dialogs.

New in this version:
- Drop Zone (check it out)
- Site Manager (Save credentials for ‘private’ domains and trackers)
- Search Favorites (Save your favorite search queries so you can easily recall them)
- MiniNova Search
- ‘Start with Windows’ option (in the preferences dialog)

RSS Feeds support has been dropped for now: most provided feeds are not completely RSS2.0 compatible, which makes it very hard to track if there are new entries. (To do so, I would need to save the history per feed in some location, which is quite a lot of work). As an alternative I provided the Search Favorites.
If anyone can tell me what they think about this alternative, or have an idea how to consume RSS-feeds: please do so!
I have wasted a lot of nights on this feature, and tried to find a decent solution last friday but all with no real result...

Great stuff! Works better than the original. When I am copying files and want to start the Download Redirector, it can't connect to the server. No problem for your tool.

But in version 0.4 the search button is permanently disabled!?
