Upnp search

Unread post by helge577 » Sat Aug 31, 2013 11:38 pm

Hello developers,

I have an music collection with nearly 87000 tracks. Browsing them to find what I am looking for is very uncomfortable.

I tried Twonky Server before and the "upnp search" support feature was very useful to handle big music collections.
Why don't you support upnp search?

With best regards

+1 for providing UPnP search capability.

This feature is really important for medium to large music collections.

I realize this is an old thread ... but rather than create a new thread, I find it useful to note how long folks have requested this feature, and yet it is not present.

Please implement UPnP/DLNA search. I myself have a large library, and it is truly a hassle having to scroll through very long lists of content to find what I want. It is boggling my mind how Synology simply doesn't have this feature implemented, and yet the focus on DSM for many revolves around finding/managing large volumes of content!

+1, also the guy in this thread: https://forum.synology.com/enu/viewtopic.php?t=31306 and these guys in the bubble thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthr ... st40035560
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthr ... st43077087
Then probably the 'rest of the iceberg' that doesn't follow a bug down the rabbithole, searching the relevant forums, finding the relevant threads, adding their +1, flagging with devs. The other type of person!

Hello,

3 years later .... no remote search yet ?!

How shall this get escalated ?

DSM 6 now comes with a universal search that indexes whatever folder we give it, so I guess the upnp remote search could be implemented taking advantage of that

Hope that we find a way to make this move forward

Well it is 2018 and this feature still seems to be missing. Cannot search my NAS media server content through Samsung Multiroom App. Sad!
