Synology Apps for Gentoo

Unread post by dirkme » Mon Nov 27, 2017 2:59 am

Not too sure if this is the right forum to ask for this.

Is it possible that Synology will create their Clients, like cloud and drive for a wider variation of Linux based distros?

Right now we have Fedora and Ubuntu, but Debian and Gentoo isn't available.

Thank you for your help

Dirk

Hi Dirk

It actually seems worse in that cloudstation used to be available for both ubuntu and fedora but now only ubuntu

After upgrading to the new Synology Drive remotely, I got home to find that Fedora isn't supported anymore - just ubuntu. Can I downgrade back to synology cloudstation drive? Or is there a way to install via alien etc?

Will synology consider a cross distro solution like flatpak for all client software? This would certainly make any client software much more useful to everyone, not just ubuntu users

Cheers
Peter
