file explorer - context menu: open with text editor

Unread post by quan » Wed Feb 08, 2017 2:37 pm

File explorer in web-UI is fine but I miss something. I have several text files (.php, .item, .sitemap. ,properties, ....) and I want to edit them regularly via web interface because I do not always have the possibility to access the files via network shared folder etc..

So I have to start text editor separately. Then I have to choose the correct file path and the file, open it and save it.
This could be done faster.

Can you add a "edit with text editor" to the context menu when a user clicks on a file in file explorer (irrespective of the file extension) that opens the file directly in the editor?
This would make working with files much easier!

Thanks!

If you have "Text Editor" installed from package center you should have a context menu entry reading "Open with Text Editor" for certain file types, including php.
