You'll find every DSM version here, if you traverse up a couple of folders. :)

Seems like Synology has just pulled 6.2 from the main download site???
Latest version is now 6.1.7

For now you can still get 6.2 from the link in the previous post.
EDIT: This has now been removed too.

I can get 6.2 through the Download Center.

Only a few models offer DSM 6.2 there, the others are still on 6.1.7.

However, the files seem to be there. You just need to know the correct path.

For example:

DSM 6.2 for DS715 is https://global.download.synology.com/do ... _23739.pat

Now you need to change the URL to get the file for DS116: replace DS715 by DS116 and the file will download.

Replace DS712 by DS718 and you get the file for DS718+

Yes, I can see that my DS412+ supports 6.2: https://www.synology.com/en-us/support/ ... #utilities

I can download the pat file from there and update it manually. The question is why 6.2 is not available from the automatic updates in Control Panel > Updates & Restore

It says that DSM 6.1.7-15284 is the up-to-date version.

The Download Center says the latest version is 6.2 (https://www.synology.com/en-us/support/ ... #utilities)

Apparently Synology have had some problems with the 6.2 files, so they have changed (most of) them overnight.

The new files have the same build number but different file sizes (so they are not the same), but no one knows what they have changed. In my world this is not the right way of doing things.

Furthemore Synology contributed to the confusion by releasing 6.1.7 after the initial 6.2 release. so personally I will wait for a new build number.

i do same... it not smart to install first release version. i wait until first patch for big update

Agreed, some note, email or posting should be done but there is a reason not to up-rev the build number if all they changed were install scripts. In the case you already installed, there would be no change with the new install methods (No matter the end result).

I just checked and you are correct. File sizes are different (for DS413 and DS1815+) with the same version number and it won't let me manually update to the current 6.2 pat's. With first 6.2 pat, my DSM logs report multiple SMART errors on different drives but the Storage Manger shows no errors or relocated sectors. I am not surprised. These NAS boxes are overpriced toys with no support and updating firmware is rolling the dice. After the way they handled the Atom chip flaw, I'll be building my own from now on. I had to add a CPU fan and friction tape to every drive slot to stop the rattling.

Because it failed and bricked some people's units, so they pulled it before re-releasing it.

Source? Pure speculation and according to some analysis seen in German forum absolutely not true. The DSM part of the files hasnt changed!

If you are that bent on installing 6.2... go to the download center and grab it (it's available for your DS116).

Easy peasy.

I was wondering if 6.2 ever becomes available on DS713+ and today 6.2-23739 has finally appeared in the Control panel.
