Final Firmware 426 available

Unread post by ippf » Fri Jan 12, 2007 3:14 pm

EDIT: changed to 2xupload

PS: Why isn´t Synology offering the firmware via BitTorrent?! The download server in Taiwan is extremly slow.

Same for me, I am very disappointed about that point. Where is the reason for? Now I really dont know if its not better to keep beta 424 :(

From 'Release Notes':

For users upgrading from the beta version, please note that the Ez-Internet function is excluded in this firmware version.

Probably there´s a problem with that right now and they removed this feature cause they wanted to release version 4xx.

Probably you have to wait till version 5xx...

Hello,

i also will stay at 424, because i see no huge improvement in release 426 compared to 424. I although expect a problem with the usb hibernation in combination with my SSODS USBSwap patch. Hopefully they will make this usb function configurable.

Regarding the ez-internet i have no problem, because i use he function of my router (WRT54GL with DD-WRT FW24).

Nevertheless, a couple of months ago i have written a patch for SSODS were the DDClient was included. This DynDNS Client is based on perl and worked perfectly. The only problem is the configuration. You have to do it once by hand via telnet.

If somebody is interested, i could try to write a new DDClient patch for SSODS 2.11.

But i can't start before next weekend.

FTP over SSL still does not work, even when configuring and forwarding defined ranges of ports...

I have no problem with SSL. Used it with Firmware 38*, 424, and 426.
Maybe it is the FTP-client.

The Info on the "new" Download Redirector still shows version 0424 :?:

I guess they put the wrong file there.....

Hi,

i've found the old DDCLient files, copied and patched them a little bit and it seems to work :D . I have to test it and then i have to create a .pat for install and de-install. If everything is ok, it could be finished during this weekend, but i can't promise anything.

Nevertheless, ddclient runs as a daemon and it could be a problem for the standby mode :(

i now also use ez-internet option on my asus wireless router with the oleg firmware.

And i see that in the latest firmware the torrentclient is not improved, the client is the same buggy client as the on of the 424 firmware.

Dyndns Client patch for SSODS

Unread post by mr_hyde » Sat Jan 13, 2007 2:04 pm

For those who are running SSODS on the Diskstation and have no router with a DDNS Client, i have written a patch. You will find it in the following link in the slimdevices forum.

Nevertheless, with this patch it is not possible to route the ports automatically.
