Still no HDMI output like QNAP have :-(

Maybe will get one anyway to myself as a christmas gift.

Interesting that is has two memory module slots. It says it only supports 6GB total, but I assume it will probably take 8GB without issue (2 x 4GB). Doesn't look like the CPU supports more than 8GB of RAM.

The DS716+ only has one slot, and had no problem upgrading to 8GB in one slot.

I thought these were supposed to have some M.2 SSD slots on the bottom or was that only the DS918+

This CPU with Intel Quick Video Sync seems like it would be a better option than the C2000 Series in recent DSxx17+ models, although I suppose the RAM limitation could be an issue for many use cases.

Need Intel to release the Quad Core plus C3000 Series already.

HP,

Which memory modules did you use?

I am assuming that they would go ok, into a DS918+?

Thanks in advance.

Hi.

How are you getting 16gb when syno specs says 8gb max??

Do you think the DS918+ would also take 16gb??

Really interested cause I would like to run multiple VM's at the same time and 8gb is to tight...

Thanks.

I dont understand how it works with 16gb since the CPU supports max 8gb of memory according to Intel:

I tried it because on other forum (for example the german one) some users reported that it s working. They guess that the intel specification is 8 GB per channel, so 2 x 8 can work. But I dont know what is the technical reaosn behind Synologys officiel 6 GB limit.

big concern is why intel limit is 8GB. we know from past synology limit base on RAM they sell

Newer version of this ram is CT2K8G3S186DM in case people have difficulty finding the ram Harry posted.

Installed 16GB (2 x 8GB) on a DS918+, working fine.

Intel's published max memory size is per slot, so 8GB x 2 slots = 16GB.

Other J3455 boards also fully support 16GB. For example AsRock J3455 ITX

I doubt that information.

If you compare the ARK with the cpu of the DS916+ it also tells us 8gb max

How many RAM-slots does DS916+ have? If just one, your example is irrelevant ((
