It's normal, that small (and especially just security) updates are not released as completely new versions with different number, just as a Update of current version. And since last update was a security one...

While I was not present, my DS2413+ notified me that DSM 6.1.4-15217 Update 1 would be auto-installed. The next day, I received a notification that there was a power failure and an improper shutdown. The DiskStation is connected to a UPS that can power it for an incredibly long time so I believe that the failure was due to the update. Then the DiskStation ran a consistency check after the failure. Soon after the consistency check, I was present and the DiskStation made a single beep, shut down, and has not been able to restart.

There are no LEDs at all. No solid, no blinking, just nothing.

I phoned support and the agent laughed and said that the unit was dead. He did eventually say I could try replacing the power supply. I've done that and there is still no change.

I believe that this problem has been caused by the update given the timing of the problems. How can I either get my unit running again or get Synology to address the issue?

Quick question... does a DS2415+ require a restart to update from DSM 6.1.4-15217-1 to DSM 6.1.4-15217-2? - There's no mention of a restart in the release notes... but you never know.

I don't know about DS2415+, but for my DS218+, no restart was required.

Other brand camera (AXIS) is still working fine.

Problem solved :-)

After update Hikvision settings must be changed. Rtsp settings must be set to “digest/basic” instead of “digest” only

Update 2 ran OK, no restart of diskstation was needed.

I'm experiencing terrible performance since installing this update. I used to get read and write speeds just above 100 MB/s, but now I'm down to 40 write, 52 read.

Anyone else noticing a decline in performance?

performance has remained excellent across all our 20+ units.

I'm experiencing same issue. Once upgraded to Update 2, hyper backups that normally took 1hour are now taking 4.5hrs to exactly the same disks, we have tried to reformat the disks to EXT4 and also NTFS to see if there was a difference but there was none.

Is there a setting change somewhere that needs to be altered since the backup? We have tries read write to the disk directly (\\synology-nas\usbshare01) and we are getting 100+ Mb but we are getting between 8 and 10 through hyper backup.
