Not a big deal but is anyone else seeing this in the SSD cache section after the update? The stats text is wrapping, notice month is not visible...

DS 1513+ here, working generally very well for the past two years.

I installed the DSM 6.1.3-15152-4 update 6.5 days ago, and in the work-days / weekdays since then, my users (a small business office with 3 people) have reported a couple of unexplained short-term interruptions in their file access, or at least "hiccups" in file sharing protocols or something.

One user, on a recent-model 24" Apple iMac, states that when viewing his Finder window he will sometimes see (with no input from him to cause this!) the file list for the currently-viewed folder spontaneously truncate itself from many lines to only very few lines (he gave the example of seeing it truncate itself to only something like 5 or 6 files listed). And then later it will be back to normal.

Another user, on a fairly new and well updated Windows 10 PC, reported that the mounted-drive connection to the same server disappeared for a short time from her Windows Explorer window, and spontaneously reappeared. Neither of these users were aware of each other's problems so they seem to have been completely independent occurrences and not imagined. They also were unaware, either completely or nearly, that there had been an update overnight on the weekend so I don't think they were imagining trouble from nothing.

I will try just another reboot, in addition to the one that was automatically performed at the time of installing the update, and hope for the best.

Updated my DS1815+ to 6.1.3-15152 update 4 about an hour ago and it's been extremely unresponsive and slow like F since! Opening ANYTHING in DSM takes anywhere between 20 and 30 seconds, if it opens at all. All my movies and tv shows are missing icons and won't play. Accessing the DiskStation using my iMac is also slow as S. CPU usage is hovering somewhere between 4 and 8 percent though. Not sure what is going on, but this update surely did more damage than fixing things. :-(

[Edit]

Problem seems to be some sort of "Volume Usage"... AGAIN! Had this crap happen before. Disappears and re-appears without clear reason. I'm starting to get to a point to just not update my DiskStations anymore for the sake of...

"If it ain't broken, don't try to have Synology fok it up for you!"

99% Volume Utilization is definitely a recurring problem for me as well. Try restarting, most of the time it seems to resolve it.

@HarryPotter
Go to DSM download page. Search for your system. Then on the DSM download page for your system, identify the DSM you want to download. But you are not looking for the DSM. You are looking for the critical update. So don't click on the DSM, but go to the right hand side of the box which labelled "others...". Click on it. It will lead you to the critical update for all the systems for this DSM. Then, search for the critical update for your system and click for download.
That is it.
Good luck.
I just posted a question wrt to my DS1515 in this DSM forum. If you know something about how to solve my problems, can you give me some feedback please.

Very frustrating operation failed messages frequently since this new release was recently installed. Not only excruciatingly slow on my DS211J but after waiting several minutes for the results I get that horrible operation failed message. I had to reinstall download station and it worked for a while but now failing again. Very unhappy with this device at the moment.

Pop-up windows with the text "Operation Failed" are not specific to DSM-6.1.3-15152 update 4.

I also see "Operation Failed" pop-ups on DSM-6.1.3-15152 update 3.

DS414slim DSM-6.1.3-15152 update 3, 2x WD 1TB, SHR (one logical volume). "Operation Failed" appeared when using FileStation. I created a new folder and then tried to view the contents (none, since the folder had just been created). The folder opened and the contents were successfully displayed (empty) but the pop-up appeared as though something had gone wrong. I'm also seeing intermittent crashes of FileStation, as I already posted in the thread "DSM 6.1.3 Released".

Problems with Download Station is not really related to a DSM version. There's a (rather long) thread elsewhere about the problems with Download Station. Basically is it one or more of the search providers failing. You can add better ones yourself, but Torrent sites come and go and whenever a site is shut down, the related search engine will fail and basically cripple Download Station. The only way to solve this is to disable all the search modules and then enable them one at a time to see which one is working and which one isn't.

See this thread for more about this problem and some custom made modules for Download Station: https://forum.synology.com/enu/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=125017

I had this same issue. I ended up going to the Package Center and under Installed Packages is File Station. In my case is was not running so under Actions I started it and all is back in order.
