I updated to the DSM 6.1.3-15152-4 release (at least I think I did) - and then proceeded to RAID scrubbing on my Disk Group.

It showed progress for a while, but then I looked and it had this idiotic blank popup with an OK button. Clicked the OK button and the Storage Manager seemed to close.

Now i have this spinning icon/tab at the top of the screen, and when I try to open Storage Manager I get the same idiotic blank popup:

Any idea what is going on? I can't seem to open the logging app either.

Same thing happened here, I managed to solve it though. But I don't know which of the following fixed it:

  • Rebooting the DS215+ 4 times
  • Unplugging my FTDI USB Serial Device converter

What do you mean by "officially"???

PS It is not a big secret that critical (minor) updates are stored at the same place (subfolder's name is "criticalupdate/update_pack") with major updates (folder's name is "release") on the three mirrors (DE, US and TW):

Not a big secret but not the official way to get the critical updates.

It is a matter of linguistic approach. I would replace your "official" with my "recommended", since manual update is possible by design, but not recommended. "Official" means "allowed" since both manual and automatic updates are allowed by system design, but in general automatic way is recommended, whereas manual one is reserved as backup in case something doesn't go as expected with automatic one ...

Hi all.

I've run this update today and now I can no longer mount my external USB hard drive. I can see it in Control Panel - Info Centre - External Devices but the button has disappeared from the Menu Bar. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the drive and restarting DSM. Is it just coincidence or is it the update? :?

The update did not help to resolve the “random” wake issues at all.
If anybody has a clue how to get rid of this synocrond crap, please share.

Applied DSM 6.1.3-15152-4 to my three Synology boxes: DS-212j, DS-215j, DS-1512+

Just home archive and video editing NAS's. Not running any critical production here.... AND I do have 3 separate copies and an offline backup of my approx 12 TB of data. That said, since update #4 my DS-215j has had problems keeping track of the current time, while the other units are not seeing any issues. No RAID, just BASIC volumes, though I have managed to use multiple volumes on a few physical hard drives in my units.

One symptom indicating the DS-215j has lost it's sense of the correct time: Firefox browser can not connect to the web interface of the DS-215j while the others connect just fine. Google Chrome is able to connect to the DS-215j, which is what I use to manually reset the boxes' system time from 1999/12/31 --> something more reasonable. When the DS-215j's local time is wonky the web GUI says the box can't connect to the internet: no DSM updating capability and no Control Panel --> "External Access" thru ... synology.me. After I manually correct the boxes' system time these capabilities return. .... weird and only on the one unit so far.

Running 6.1.3-15152-4.

Anytime I open Package Manager, I can see text descriptions of packages, but no images. If I attempt to look at an installed package or view new ones, the DS (or maybe just the PM UI) hangs. All I can do is reboot. Are there any threads going that might help me better diagnose? I've been trying to get something more actionable to bring to the forums here but it's a pretty tedious process and I haven't found any ins that might better help diagnose.

I have the same problem with my 1513+. There are 3 users, none can login using the web-login. The first attempts, the message "you are not authorized to use this service" appeared. However, after 3+ login attempts, this message no longer was displayed and I am logged out immediatly after the desktop appears.
(Login is succesful but a logout immediatly follows)

Since I am currently not home, there is nothing I can try to resolve the problem. I read on this forum that several reboots might resolve the issue. If that does not work, then I will have to reset the default password.

Fortunately, the synology cloud station is still syncing files to my laptop.

!! 22:16: Update on this issue. The problem seems to have resolved itself. Login is now sucessfull again without any action taken from my side.

My Synology DS416 updated itself last night with DSM 6.1.3-15152 Update 4 and this morning, it's unresponsive.
The status light blinks orange and I cannot access the web console...

It doesn't sound good...

Hi,

I turned on the auto update function, so my nas updated to 6.1.3-15152-4 automatically. It is installed last friday (20170908) After the patch, the system reboots itself, but my nas went into a not responsive state, and i had to remove the power cable to get it work again. The system is up now, but the smb share / nfs share hanged many time this weekend.
Has anyone else experienced like this?

Autoupdated to DSM 6.1.3-15152-4 on DS1817+, and I have the following issues:

Tick SFTP, port 22 are set to turn on, I click Apply and then SFTP unticks and it says Settings Applied. Changes are NOT applied.
Rsync, I tick the box, and I get an error. Device doesn't work.
Turn on SSH, port 22 and I get "Operation Failed."

I can obviously get in to DSM, and my folder shares show up in Windows. The volume is fine; it says the system is good. BUT ALL SSH/SFTP/RSYNC SERVICES FAIL! Our network is FINE as another Synology had the update applied with no issue. Tech support currently does not have a resolution and it's slow going.

After two days... Still not even a reply from support...
I have no access to my data. I'm only left with the blinking orange status led and the power LED. All HDD Leds are off and I can't reach the device over network (not even a ping).
I start to regret my switch to Synology (I bought this not even a month ago)

I can no longer reach my DS via the web interface. I can login via the Android apps, and also navigate in WIndows Explorer (when I go to \\DiskStation) but the web-login over the local + external netwerk does not work. Mobile interface from a phone may work but super slowly. Plex on TV works fine but Plex Home Theater on my Windows laptop can view the libraries but not play video anymore. When I enter my quickconnect link it does refer to the right URL and ports (which are open) but then there is just a blank screen. I managed to get login once using IE and on a non-SSL connection, but also super slow.

Obviously restarted the DS, the router, turned off/on firewall and tried different computers. No luck.
