Snapshot Restore in-place grayed

Unread post by neneonline » Thu Dec 07, 2017 12:08 am

I am trying to restore a snapshot using the "Snapshot Replication" tool but the option "Restore in-place" is grayed.

Can anyone help me understand why?

I have the same issue. However In my case was for encrypted homes. Read this: ... n/recovery

I don't understand why I was able to schedule a snapshot if I cannot use.

However I was able to restore a snapshot manually from command line. It was really cumbersome but here is how I did it.

Here is how I did for one user (jb)
Unmount encripted homes from ds interface then ssh into ds

Code: Select all

sudo su.
cd /volume1/@homes@/
ls -al
# identify the user encrypted folder. In my case it was ECRYPTFS_FNEK_ENCRYPTED.FWYj6aJwTLe2hUbX.CHpr7DM-Z1gTRP3nEUQRc8exvwTMKmQc

# move the encrypted folder out of the way

# identify the right snapshot. Snapshots are in the /volume1/@sharesnap/@homes@/

cd /volume1/@sharesnap/@homes@/GMT-07-2018.07.15-08.00.03
ls -al
cp -a ECRYPTFS_FNEK_ENCRYPTED.FWYj6aJwTLe2hUbX.CHpr7DM-Z1gTRP3nEUQRc8exvwTMKmQcsoz7Xfqzk-- /volume1/\@homes\@/

# go back in ds interface and remount the encypted folder
# check /volume1/homes
ls -al /volume1/homes/jb
