which has everything you need to install a quieter fan. It makes a huge difference.

Hi i have just bought a DS207+ and im totally new to using a DOS-like program.
When vordan writes he creates a shell script do i the use the command to create a directory or what?
hope you help me :D

In diskstation manager 3.0, the location changed so what you have to do is:
set a "0" in the file /sys/module/ds107\+_207\+_synobios/parameters/check_fan
after each reboot

this is done by logging in as root and creating a shell script in /usr/syno/etc.defaults/rc.d/" that I name "S99zz_fan_check_disable.sh"
cd /usr/syno/etc.defaults/rc.d/
vi S99zz_fan_check_disable.sh
+press "a" to append text
echo 0 > /sys/module/ds107\+_207\+_synobios/parameters/check_fan
+press Esc, write
+change the permission by writing:
chmod +x S99zz_fan_check_disable.sh

Nothing to do after reboot, and you get a really silent NAS
(((Look for different folders, if it doesn't work on a different DS, then the folder might be different.)))
