DS Photo not connection over ssl

Unread post by ClaudioWeiler » Tue Aug 30, 2016 3:17 pm

Hi,

My DS Photo, on android, is not connecting over ssl, insecure connection works fine and login is quick.

DSM and app is updated. My ssl is Lets Encrypt.

Tested with local IP, quickconnect ID and DDNS, none works over ssl.

I also use DS File and DS Cloud:
- DS File: connects, but login takes a couple of minutes.
- DS Cloud: works fine.

Any help?

DN Audio (Android): Cannot connect through the Internet and HTTPS

Unread post by WstretnaBalassa » Wed Aug 31, 2016 1:42 am

Hi!
After recent updates I can not connect to DS Audio through the Internet (using either HTTP or HTTPS connection). Local connection works fine but only HTTP.
The same problem exists with DS Note and DS File. DS Cloud and DS Photo work fine (I know they are on different ports but I've checked and tried using other ports for DS Audio with no luck). As for other apps I can't tell as I am not using them.

Before It started, I made no changes to my Disk Station and it all the same on different phones.

From Google's Play store comments I know others have the same problem. Is there a solution to this?

I'm having the same trouble.
Can login via HTTP but when HTTPS is checked DSfile Android cannot find Diskstation

HTTP to HTTPS rollover is configured on DSM
DSM is accessible via HTTPS @ port 5001
Recently updated my SSL Cert (DSFile Documentation reports this issue as fixed 4.9.2)

DS916+
DSM 6.0.2-8451
DS File for Android version 4.9.2-254

DS Audio will not login using HTTPS

Unread post by psyfer9983 » Thu Sep 01, 2016 4:37 pm

Hello,

DS Audio will not connect over WAN using HTTPS. This was working until I upgraded to the latest DSM 6. I can login using the same credentials if HTTPS is unchecked. Has anyone got HTTPS to work for them?

Can only connect via quick connect and http

Unread post by Saurbaum » Fri Sep 02, 2016 10:11 am

When I connect any DS applcaition to my nas I can only do it if I have https turned off.

Now there is no way I'm using this connection without https. I have a domain with a proper SSL certificate courtesy of lets encrypt and everything is fine from the web browser but all the DS apps for android fail when using https.

I did see some suggestion that turning off the automatic redirect to https would fix it but it doesn't change anything for me,

Has anyone else had a good experience using SSL on android with these apps?

New update (6.0.2-8451-1) available which, according to release notes, should fix the issue:
"Fixed an issue where certain browsers and mobile apps might fail to connect to Synology NAS via HTTPS when HTTP/2 is enabled."

I can confirm the latest firmware update (6.0.2-8451) fixed this HTTPS problem with the DS apps.
