@havli : I have exactly the same problem. I have 4 Synology NAS, which do not connect anymore on my domain since monday ...
All my production is stopped. I created a ticket, but no news until now ...
I think I will disable the automatic updates for those products now !

If someone has problems with ssh / sftp not starting after installing update 3 or 4, here is the fix :

using terminal go on your synology

modify the following file : /etc/ssh/sshd_config
On line 48 there is a ":i" that shouldn't be there (mistyped by someone at synology ?)
Remove this ":i" save (need to be root to save) and reboot.

I don't think this problem came from me, I never edited this file...

Havli, hi.
Your info was deleted by a admin. Clearly Synology does not give a pair of dingo kidneys for us, their customers.
Can you please write the instructions somewhere else? Dropbox, PM....
Our work is hindered for forth day in a row without any help from them.
Thanks, Ales.

Of course a search would have helped, but why delete helpful information in the first place, if Synology is unable to provide a fix in due time?

Because this is a not supported hack and you do it at your own risk. You risk to lose data and I am sure you're the first who is then going to blame Synology for that as well.

Therefore it has to be discussed in the underground part.

Contact Synology and wait for their solution.

That's not about me, as I have upgraded all my 4 RS to 6.0 already, without problems except for AV Essentials not updating definitions.

Still lame.

Had the identical experience with my DS216+ stalling at 66%. Have tried to update 3 times - each time unit freezes at 66% and I need to do a hard boot by holding the power button down until it shuts down. I'm leaving it for now until I hear the problem has been solved.
Nitrav wrote:One of my diskstations is a DS216+ for which 6.0-7321 Update 4 was offered today (27/04/2016) . After agreeing to install the update - it got to 66 percent and no further. The LAN and power light continued to flash with both HDD lights static. I let it be for an hour and eventually tried a hard reboot, but to no avail. So I pulled the plug to shut it down and after powering back on the DS216+ booted back up successfully indicating the DSM was still at DSM 6.0-7321 Update 2. So I am holding off on installing Update 4 altogether as I have not seen symptoms of the issue the update was to resolve - 'Improved the stability of system boot up on DS716+ and DS216+'.

Some users reported that installing the update manually does work. You can download the pat file from here.
