SD card compatibility

Unread post by nathanael » Mon May 29, 2017 8:20 am

I've just purchased and installed a 2600ac. I've bought a Kingston 64gb microSD card (Class 10 U1) and formatted it as EXT4, but when I insert it the router doesn't see it.

I also have an older Sandisk 8gb card (Class 10 U1), also formatted EXT4, and the router sees it no prob.

Are there known compatibility issues with Kingston?

I use Kingston's 32GB MicroSDHC, and it's rated as U1, Class 10. It's recognized by my RT2600AC.

On my 2600ac, the SD card goes into the slot "upside down", that is, with the label side of the SD card facing the floor and the SD contact points facing upwards. Not sure if anyone else has made note of this, but until I flipped the SD card over, my 2600ac did not see the card. I am using a 128 GB SanDisc and it works OK when it's seen, but after about 11 days of up-time, the router loses track of it and reports that it was ejected improperly. Restarting the 2600 solves the issue for another 10 or 11 days.

I haven't encounter that problem yet. Though I did have to reboot my RT2600AC last night because the Wifi ( both channels) were completely unstable. Uptime was 10 days.
