Postby Cat Scratch » Fri Nov 17, 2017 2:05 am

Version: 1.1.5-6542-4

1. Fixed a security vulnerability regarding File Station.
2. Fixed an issue where Site-to-Site VPN might not work properly.
3. Fixed an issue where SRM might fail to get IP address from DHCP server upon startup.

5. Minor bug fixes.

Requires a reboot.
Everything seems to work with my configuration of the RT2600ac

I noticed that after Update 4 my LTE dongle doesn't auto-connect after reboot. It's not visible under "Network Center -> Internet -> 3G & 4G", but the device is correctly recognized at "Control Panel -> Device". The manual dongle re-plug fixes the problem, but still it's a bit annoying.

It's been 4 days since I updated to SRM 1.1.5.6542 Update 4 ... no loss of OpenVPN Server configuration and no issues so far. Looks good.

After the latest upgrade I have found that the 5 Gig Wifi Band drops clients and will not allow them to reconnect. Killing the 2.4 Gig SSID forces a re-connection on the 5 Gig SSID but after a time the clients drop off and are unable to connect to the 5 Gig SSID. I am not happy with this state of affairs and need a way to roll the last two upgrades back.

A factory reset mostly gives a state of some numbers (1-2) back in FW.
But no guarantee !!

So given the issues that are around the latest upgrade/update why can we not revert or downgrade to an earlier version that was, on the surface trouble free (OK that worked as expected). Or if Synology refuse to make one available they should FIX the current issues which are annoying users, or at least give users a timeframe when they can expect to see a resolution.

And yes I have logged a support call for my issue.

3. Fixed an issue where SRM might fail to get IP address from DHCP server upon startup.

Anyone else seeing a large number of disconnect issues with this latest release? I've had this router for several months now and have really had very few complaints. However, after this latest update, I'm seeing a lot of disconnects from various devices. This appears to be happening on both wireless and wired connections. Computers, phones, NVIDIA Shield, etc. I have yet to completely reset the router and start over to see if that fixes anything (I have a lot of customizations that I'm not looking forward to rebuilding), but it's getting to the point where that seems to be the next step. Very frustrating after it's been pretty solid for me and this was supposedly a minor update.

Seems to happen to my computers when they sleep, but it's happening to all of my devices now. Even my HDHomerun tuners are dropping off. It's very frustrating. I guess I'll have to try a reset, just don't have enough time to restore everything at the moment, so I'll need to hold off.

As strange as it seems I'm not seeing any drop outs at all. Be it wireless 2.4 or 5 or any of the wired systems we use here at home. One wireless system is ~80 feet away, connects every time coming out of sleep. Android phones and tablets work okay too.

That's good news, I hope. Maybe that means I just need to start fresh with mine. Thanks for the feedback.

I'm only seeing the 5 Gig WiFi dropping connection, any device that has both the 5 G and 2,4 G SSID won't notice the 5 G connection being lost, for me it's only my Chromecast Ultra that highlighted the issue and causes immense frustration every time I want to use it or it drops out when I'm using it. I was happy with 1.1.4- ?. If Synology can't fix it then I suppose my next step is a factory reset and new configuration.

By testing to connect with another router, it seems in my situation, the problem is not related to Synology.
I do have the same problem by another router. By switching off and on again of the network adapter of my PC, connection is established again.
So, in my situation seems related to my Windows OS / PC.

FWIW I am not seeing any disconnects or other issues. My network has >60 devices (none of which are Windows OS). Wireless settings are all on defaults.
