Same situation here (but on a DS1513+) - LOLOLOLOL <= not laughing

SSH is up, but sending "/usr/syno/sbin/synoservicecfg --restart httpd-user" will reply with service [httpd-user] restart failed, synoerr=[0x0000]

Edit:

So it looks like they have changed how this works, since my httpd.conf-user no longer exists, nor the service above...

Edit 2:

Followed the re-install steps here and now I'm making some progress - currently reinstalling.
I had to wait a good bit before the light started flashing orange, but let's see where this takes me.

Edit 3:
I am in - going to have to reconfigure a lot of things, but I can now log-in yay~

How to resolve the missing web GUI

Unread post by detonyle » Tue Oct 13, 2015 5:24 pm

Hello Guys,

I just found a workaround to the web gui missing after DSM6 upgrade.

In fact we move from apache to nginx, and I think still some trouble when migrating configuraiton especially when you have ssl.
So to fix it you need to edit file:

/etc.defaults/nginx/nginx-default.conf

I didn't take time to debug the file, I just remove all the ssl parameters for both admin ( port 5000)
and web (port 80).

then restart the service with synoservicecfg --start nginx

And now it's magic web Gui is back :)

Now waiting feedback from synology support

hi all
if you were using a self made ssl certificate here's what should be your pb :
connect to your syno with terminal ssl root@synoipaddress
cd /var/log
check the log file /nginx/error.log if you have this message follow what i did :

2015/10/13 13:38:18 [emerg] 9405#9405: PEM_read_bio_X509_AUX("/usr/syno/etc/ssl/ssl.chain.crt/server.crt") failed (SSL: error:0906D066:PEM routines:PEM_read_bio:bad end line)

cp servert.crt server.crt.old « to do a backup"
vi server.crt
and notice 2 things :
1- for the first certificate each line was ended by ^M
2 - there were no new line between ——END CERTIFICATE————BEGIN CERTIFICATE——
So i remove all the ^M and add a return to have :
——END CERTIFICATE——
——BEGIN CERTIFICATE——
:wq!

restart my syno .

can connect again !!!!!!

honnestly I'm very proud to have solve this pb by myself without having to reconfigure everything on my syno and wihtout having to wait syno support stupid question like " is your synology plugged on the network with a cable?"

Same problem here, cannot connect to the dsm 6.0 (I did also a hard reset). Waiting for a solution from Synology.

Wow - I went ahead and started configuring my DS to get it a bit closer to how I had it and after a reboot I am back in square one with no accessible DSM - this is after I imported an SSL certificate.
SSH seems to be disabled as well, ffs.

Going to have to restore, again.

I can confirm that adding a certificate, self-signed or assigned will cause DSM to not start properly - any workarounds in order to import my own certificate?
