Hi,

Upgraded my DS214, seems to work, Windows file sharing works.
Upgraded via SP3, was running SP2.

Cheers

Hello,

IMAPS (993) broke with this update.

Switched temporarily to IMAP (143)

Seems something wrong with ssl on dovecot:

Code: Select all

nas02> openssl s_client -crlf -connect localhost:993
CONNECTED(00000003)
write:errno=104
---
no peer certificate available
---
No client certificate CA names sent
---
SSL handshake has read 0 bytes and written 297 bytes
---
New, (NONE), Cipher is (NONE)
Secure Renegotiation IS NOT supported
Compression: NONE
Expansion: NONE
---

Resource monitor seems to be broke. It tells me to check my network settings and closes.

Strange... no such problem on a DS1512+ and a ds1812+ that I manage... :|

I was able to fix the issue with a reboot. I went from update 2 to update 4.

This is a good news ;-)
Even after an update that didn't make a reboot , I always force the nas to do it each time it is possible (not always because sometimes of iscsi connections)... to be sure that all is ok .

I just updated (to 5.1-5022 Update 4 from 5.1-5022 Update 3) a few minutes ago. This update was EXTREMELY fast and, again, did not require a reboot of the NAS. I was pleased again, in that I did not need to reconfigure scripts to enable hostname lookups or .htaccess authentication.

So far, I have tested Windows File Service, HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, SFTP, TFTP, iSCSI, NTP, DS File (from iOS 7), Keyed SSH and SCP. All of these services appear to be working correctly on my box.

Hope everyone else's works as smoothly.

Be warned - Python 2.7.9 is required by this update as Python 2.7.8 is incompatible with this DSM version. Once you update DSM, you can't go back to Python 2.7.8.

Therefore best not to update, since Python 2.7.9 currently breaks SABnzb, Couchpoato and Sickbeard.

See the thread in Third Party Packages.

Hopefully we will get a workaround soon.

Python 2.7.9 SSL cert workaround (credit goes to Dr. Bean from Synocommunity):

SSH into Diskstation, then as root execute:

ln -s /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt /usr/local/python/cert.pem

I have tested this as working on 5.2 5022 update 4 and Python 2.7.9. using SABnzbd.

After applying 5.1-5022 Update 4, I'm unable to access the DSM web manager via HTTP (ports 5000 and 5001) and unable to connect to the Diskstation via SSH. But I still have access the shared folders over AFP in the Mac Finder... I can also ping the IP adress of the Diskstation. I've rebooted twice but the issue remains (no http/sftp/ssh access). I'm completely blocked
Any tip or advice ?
Thx

After some research I found out that the certificates generated by the gui (2048 bits) were not ok. I manually generated new server certificates with the command:
/usr/syno/etc/ssl/mkcert.sh
and now imaps via dovecot's port on 993 it works perfectly again.

Hi everyone,

I recently got two RS815+ units! I love them so far!
I see the new Update 4 and would really like to get it in place, but unfortunately one of the Synology is not connected to internet.
I tried to find out a link to manually update it, but with no luck.

Can you please share such with me ?

Thank you!

Regards,
Krasi
