I updated from 5.1-5022 Update 1 tonight. The update went very smoothly for me, and as others noted, did not require a reboot of the NAS.

So far, I have tested Windows File Service, HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, SFTP, TFTP, NTP, DS File (from iOS 7), Keyed SSH and SCP. All except NTP appear to be working correctly. NTP Sync attempts are stating that "The computer did not resync because no time data was available." I will explore this issue further tomorrow.

FWIW, I was again happy that I did not need to reconfigure scripts to enable hostname lookups or .htaccess authentication.

Good luck to all.

Big issues with this update. Update 1 had been working well.
Updated to #2 and DSM became very, very unresponsive (3-5 minutes between screens). got the blue blinky. waited 4 hour and no change. finally got into DSM and rebooted. still slow and now one disk failure (I've had no issues for over a year). I tried to reinstall DSM (factory reset) and wouldn't finish.

Not ready for prime time! At least on my DS213+.

I've contacted support.

I had a lot of the same issues. I ended up doing a complete reinstall of the OS via find.synology.com and then updating it to 5022 update 2 before changing any of the settings. Luckily now that I have everything back to how things should be and added the majority of my users back the system is acting like it should.

After updating to DMS 5.1-5022 Update 2, I get an Target error when trying to connect to the iSCSI. It worked just before the update and have worked until then, without problems since I established in Nov 2014.
It is both from Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2

The NAS says that the LUN is ok.

I cannot get access to file shares with Windows Explorer after the update either.

I can get access to file share through WEBDAV and DSfile, so it is only from Windows.

Update 5.1 - 5022 Update 2 is the first update in 18 months I have had problems with. On an 1815+ this update results in the synology bogging down, bringing transfer rates down to 1 MB/s. After reboot, transfer rates return to normal, then begin to bog down again.

There is no high CPU usage and no high memory usage when the 1815+ bogs down. It simply becomes slow to respond to CIFS transfers, and the web interface become slow. Also, File Station file copy and move from the web interface also bogs down.

I hope synology is listening to these posts.

Just upgraded to Update 2 on my DS1513+. It seems to have screwed with my package center. When I open it I get loading...... and nothing else happens. just get stuck with loading.

Adding to my problems it appears when I click on Control Panel, The control panel is empty. DSM is behaving very strangley.

It seems that after a peroid of time other parts of DSM get stuck on loading - resource monitor, control pannel etc. I have noticed that I get sometimes get Connection failed - please check your network settings. No settings have changed and I have double checked DNS etc and all looks totally fine.

Updated to this version about a week ago on my DS214 Play. I have 2 WD SE 4TB disk in my system. Yesterday my system didn't respond anymore. It completely hung. I could not reach the webinterface. I tried to connect with ssh using putty, no success. It did seem to respond to a ping on it's ip adress.
Finally I pushed the on/off button and the blue light started to flash but there was no beep. I waited minutes but the system would not turn off. Finally I had to unplug the power cord to reset my system. This is the first time I experienced this since I bought the system 5 months ago.

I seem to have some issues with this latest update as well, if I leave a network share to the DS open, eventually it says "Windows cannot access \\DS\share". Pinging the DS gives no response, the unit eventually shows back up on the network after a few min. I never had this issue before, until this update.

After I update, I realise i can't connect to the disk station anymore unless I reboot the system manually when I need to connect and the connection is not stable after I reboot it. Does anyone have similar situation? Can I install back the old update?
