How to import PDF image/text

Postby dvq » Thu Dec 07, 2017 2:08 pm

I am trying to import a bunch of .PDF files into notestation. However, it appears all I can do is link a filename. I want to have the contents of the file in notestation not just the filename. When I import a document into Evernote, it actually opens the document and that becomes the basis of the note. It doesn't store the note somewhere and just put a link to the note on the page. Am I missing something here?

Use the paperclip icon (not the chain link) to attach files to your note.

AFAIK attached files' contents are not displayed in Notes. If you click on the preview icon (eyeball) you are given display choices. For example, I can display a PDF in a new browser tab, or via Google Docs, or Microsoft Office Online.

I did run across a half-baked workaround... If you are using Chrome, when you click the PDF file to display in a browser tab, you can then use the Note Station clipper on that tab and the entire PDF will be visually captured. The downside is that you must do this with each individual note, and there seems to be no way to download the displayed PDF, nor merge it with the original note (w/pdf attachment)

FWIW, attached text files can be edited directly within Notes' Text Editor.
