Moving from FastGlacier to Synology Glacier Backup?

Unread post by PHDB » Wed Nov 30, 2016 6:09 pm

Hello

I have a question regarding Amazon Glacier. I currently use FastGlacier to manage my archives and I am considering to purchase a Synoloy NAS and use Synology Glacier Backup application to manage this archive instead.
Is that possible (i.e. will the files I stored already using FastGlacier be recognized/synchronized in Glacier Backup app, meaning that I would not need to upload them again to be able to manage their updates/sychronization in Synology application)?

Thanks in advance
Regards,

I've explored the Glacier backup app for Synology and I think it will create its own vault in Glacier. You cannot select an existing one. I'm also wanting to move from FastGlacier to our Synology box, but it doesn't look like it's going to be an easy task. Thankfully, most of our stuff has been in there for 3 months or longer, so I could start over, but it would be nice to just be able to switch over.

The interface isn't as convenient as FastGlacier.
