Lychee + PHP + MySQL

Unread post by wazzapnz » Fri Jan 12, 2018 5:25 am

Hi,

I am having a little bit of trouble trying to get Lychee working on my Synology NAS.

Lychee docs here: https://lychee.electerious.com/

My hardware / packages set up below:

DS214+
DSM 6.1.4 15217 Update 5
PHP 5.6 installed
MariaDB 10
phpmyadmin installed
Apache 2.2
Web Station installed

Now I have had some experience with a bits and pieces, so I will skip to where I'm stuck.

1. I have a web server running and can get to various test pages.
2. I have Lychee installed on the NAS ok.
3. I have used phpmyadmin to create an SQL database (lychee), user (lycheeuser), password (user)
4. The user seems to have all privileges available to it, as they have

The issues:
A. When I try and connect to the database from the Lychee set up screen I get an error.
B. Lychee wants to have inputted:

database (host)
user
password

I have been using "localhost" as the database
user: lycheeuser
password: user

"Unable to connect because access was denied..."

I'm really keen to get into some dialogue with someone that is an 'expert' as I'm sure it's a very simple thing I'm doing wrong. I gave up on Lycee and have tried another product, then done a full uninstall cause I gave up - now I really want to get resolved because it seems so simply.

Thanks for anyone willing to help.

MariaDB 10 uses port 3307.

So the host is :
localhost:3307
or
127.0.0.1:3307
or when separate
Host : 127.0.0.1
Port : 3307

When you use only localhost, PHP tries to connect to MariaDB 5.

Thanks @wyodor

Much appreciated - I missed this subtlety - prob. should have stayed with MariaDB 5?

Cheers,
