MacBook Not Allowed To Connect to Server

Postby sjmagain » Sat Aug 12, 2017 3:42 pm

I am trying to upgrade my database to MariaDB 10. I can access the server/database via PHPMyAdmin but get a message that my laptop is not allowed to connect using Navicat.

I am using port 3307 as the connection. I am trying to log in using the same account that works successfully with PHPMyAdmin.

How do I fix this?

TIA!

The default server a user can login from is localhost

Add a new user and use the remote IP number or a domainname as the host.

https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.7/en ... users.html

There are tutorials, manuals, text and pictures on the internet that explain and show how to do it.
