Tomcat7 SSL configuration

Hi all,

I just installed the Synology's Tomcat7 package, and I'm trying to enabled the SSL connections. To do it, I follows the instruction from: http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-7.0-doc/ssl-howto.html#Prepare_the_Certificate_Keystore

  • first I exported my syno's certificate and ca.
  • then I use the following line to create my server's keystore (in this case a p12 file)

    Code: Select all

    openssl pkcs12 -export -in /volume1/folder/server.crt -inkey /volume1/folder/server.key -out server.p12 -name tomcat -CAfile /volume1/folder/ca.crt -caname root -chain
  • the next step was to copy the serer.p12 file to /volume1/@appstore/Tomcat7/ folder and then change the tomcat server.xml file :

But this does not work, I'm able to connect in http (default port 7070) but not with https (port 8443).

Does someone already tried to do it?

Hi Marc,

Did you manage to configure your Tomcat to use HTTPS?
If so, can you share your solution.

how to configure tomcat7 to run https?

I copy jks to /volume1/@appstore/Tomcat7/src/conf
and configure server.xml,but the "https://191.168.1.13:8443/" is inaccessible
