Config File Editor

Postby eTron » Mon May 13, 2013 1:03 am

Hi. From the Mertymade package page (http://www.mertymade.com/syno/), clicking the download link for Config File Editor (or any of the other packages) yields 'Not Found'. Are these packages no longer available anywhere?

Google gave me a link to an old version of Merty's package page (http://www.mertymade.com/syno/old_index.html#cfe), which has an active download link, but in attempting to install this package on DS410/DSM 3.1, it appears to be version 0.1!

Is this version safe to install, or is there any remaining to source to download the new package?

OR, is there any other graphical editor that can be installed on a Synology NAS?

Version 1.2 is also in the repository of http://packages.quadrat4.de
Just add the URL to package sources and the package will be under Community.

Thank you both for your replies!

bud77, though I don't understand the language, I take it that the large green button is the download link; however, when I click it, rather than download, it gives an error message containing the word 'permission'.

Goner, the link takes me to a page with instructions for installing the package, but I am using DS410 / DSM 3.1; it seems the package manager is different and doesn't allow to add a url, but only to browse a file on the local computer; therefore I need to first download the file, but can't find how to do so from your repository.

Merty seems to have left the package pages with info on-line, but removed the spk's themselves

I googled for the filename "ConfigFileEditor-noarch-12.spk" and found a French site that still has it for download : http://www.sil51.com/informatique/ds181 ... ditor.html
It's under the 'Téléchargez ..' link

The error you had with my link is due to the fact you're not logged in on the website :/

I thought you could download without being registered :(

Config File Editor Not Working After DSM 4.3 Beta Update

Postby NotoriousNAS » Fri Jul 19, 2013 5:58 pm

Hey Guys,

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I noticed right after I upgraded to the latest 4.3 beta that my 3rd party package "config file editor" no longer works and says "Please login as admin first, before using this webpage." I've rebooted and yes, I am logged in as admin. Is anyone else experiencing anything like this with this 3rd party app after the upgrade?

I got config file editor from this 3rd party community package source in case one of you all would like to try it for me :)
http://packages.quadrat4.de

Any help would be much appreciated!!

Hey Thanks!

Not sure how I missed that thread!

So...it looks like if you disable the "Improve protection against cross-side request forgery attacks" option (Control Panel>DSM Settings>Security Tab) and logout and log back in again, it makes config file editor work again :)

Hello

Can anybody help me with my problem ?

just as security measure I disabled default admin account created a new one which is member of admin group.

Since this action when I try to open config editor with new admin account it gives a message saying " please login with an account with admin rights to use the this editor ".

How can I fix this problem ?

You have to edit the .cgi files and remove the admin user check
