I don't see at the present. I'll think about it and let you know.
What bothers me is that the daemon starts and there is no process running.

That is indeed quite odd... and nothing in the logs (or on the console) that indicates an error.

I hope you think of something that might help. Thanks so far for all your help, much appreciate! :)

Is it possible that port 8080 is in use for another service and that you have a conflict.
Try to lauuch the daemon with:
/volume1/@appstore/webcam/uvc_stream -p xxxx -b
where xxxx is another port number.

What is the resolution of your webcam, the streamer defaults to 640x480 ?
Michel.

PS : I think I got it !
The uvc-streamer was written for logitech uvc webcams and it seems that yours is a Logilink!
I tried with a Labtec and it didn't work so I bought for about 20$ the logitech c270.

It is 10pm in France, so see you tomorrow

Just tried another port, no luck.

But you can be right about the make/model of the webcam. It is no Logitech, but a cheap one from dx.com. If a Logitech c270 does work, I might buy one of those.

Thanks so far!

Hi,

maybe I overlooked a post for that, but is there already a solution for 213+ on DSM5?

Till now I can't get my webcam (Microsoft lifecam) working.

Best

The + models are all (?) using the same INtel Atom, so you can follow the instructions I got. If you get it working, please let us know.

Hi,
I've built a new package based on mjpg-streamer and not on uvc-streamer, it's more fluid and supports HD résolution.
I've compiled kernel modules and uvcstream for Synology DS 713+ cedarview DSM 5, it works fine with camera Logitech c270.
You can see the stream by clicking on webcam icon in DSM or with surveillance station :
IP : 127.0.0.1
port : 8080
path : /?action=stream

with a browser type : http://localhost:8080/stream-simple.html
The package can be downloaded from http://catimimi.free.fr/webcam-mjpg-str ... iew-50.spk

Videostation has to be installed for two kernel modules videobuf-core.ko and videobuf-vmalloc.ko (I could have compiled these modules, but they would conflict with videostation if installed).
Michel.

PS : I tested it with a logitech webcam but it perhaps works with other brands.
The resolution is 1280x1024, it can be changed in the file start-stop.sh

Michel, tested this new package, still no webpage. Must be the make of the webcam, I guess.

So it is certainly the camera.
