I have gotten over this issue, it means, the drivers can be loaded now.
However, I just meet another issue. My webcam, logitech hd pro webcam c910 is not detected.
It show the error message, "Error opening device. Webcam not connected or does not support video USB class?"
I attached the spk file, which I compiled for armada370 of ds213j.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/639 ... am-370.spk
Is anyone help me out?
Or, at least, please let me know that this spk file works for other webcams on ds213j.

In short, I failed, and I need some help to solve an issue.
Based on Max_nl's first release,

0. I worked on Ubuntu 13.10, 32bit version.
1. I installed cross compile toolkit, gcc464_glibc215_hard_armada-GPL.
2. I rebuild the toolkit including "video for Linux" module, and "USB Video Class (UVC)" module.
3. I compiled webcam.c source code, but I commented out a part of source code about "Not authorized~".
4. using webcam.cgi file from #3, I made a package webcam-370.spk based on the original webcam.spk. INFO file is also changed - arch="armada370", and no checksum.

I could install webcam-370.spk on DS213j. However, it shows that the camera is always offline, and also make an error while it calls webcam.cgi. - "Error loading videodev module". :? :? :?
Is anyone who knows how to deal with this error?

Would this work with DSM 5.0 on a 1813+ or should I look for another solution?

Thanks, Tim

Hi, thanks for this. Trying the webcam icon produces

Not authorized. Must either be logged in as user 'admin', or IP must be localhost

Not a problem,

Using the Surveillance app I can record using motion detection, & using preview, can see a live image.

But Live View tab itself doesn't work.

I found a solution that worked for me to get my camera working again. Set up your webcam like normal then hit edit. Go to the advanced tab at the top right and under "Live view source" click "From Camera", then hit ok. This got my camera back in working order.

USB webcam support package worked fine with DSM 4.2 with SurveillanceStation. I upgraded to DMS 5 and stopped working on my DS412+. I upgraded USB webcam to the latest package Webcam 4.3 intel of http://e-remonty.info/spkrepo/packages.

On URL request the response is: Webcam already in use? error 16, Device or resource busy".
SurveillanceStation can not connect.
Dmesg gives several "uvcvideo: Failed to resubmit video URB" messages

Anybody else with the same problem after upgrade to DSM 5? Any solutions maybe?

I tried to comment out the localhost and admin check, recompiled the .c file and now clicking on the web cam icon just says resource cannot be found.

get the webcam.c file in a folder... Then nagivate using terminal to that folder and then execute the following:

Code: Select all

gcc -O2 -o webcam.cgi webcam.c
Then it will create a webcam.cgi

You then need to copy the webcam.cgi file to the followingf location in your Diskstation:

place the file in a location you can physically nagivate to, such as

Code: Select all

\\Diskstation\MYFOLDER
then using SSH putty, login at Root with the admin password and use the following command to copy the file over to the following location:

Code: Select all

cp \Volume1\MYFOLDER\webcam.cgi \var\packages\webcam\target\public_html
My problem is, when i run webcam.cgi, it just says resource not available... im not sure why the standard webcam.cgi doesnt work with DSM 5....

anyone any ideas???
