Allowing you to backup up your entire disk including the operating system to your NAS (instead of individual files).
As well as deploying a single disk image to multiple computers provided they have the same hardware, e.g. if you want to install the same operating system to a classroom full of computers.
nClone acts as a PXE boot server.
After you installed it on your NAS, you can start the cloning software by instructing your computer to boot off the network.
No need to mess with installation cd-roms or USB sticks.
nClone is basically a slightly modified version of the industry standard open source cloning tool Clonezilla.
It automatically connects Clonezilla to a shared folder on your NAS for your convenience, and then lets you use the standard features like savedisk and restoredisk.
It also provides a simple window in DSM to let you rename and delete captured images.

Should run on any Synology NAS that has DSM 6.0
- This is beta software. Use at your own risk!
- Assumes the NAS has only 1 network connection with 1 IP-address.
- nClone works fine with any existing DHCP server in your network, but is currently incompatible with Synology's DHCP server add-on. (because it listens to the same port we use).
- Computers you want to clone must be in the same subnet as the NAS.
The basic edition can be used free of charge, for any purpose.
However -if there is enough demand- we may also release a commercial version with features aimed at organizations managing a large number of computers in the future.
