Hi all,

i have put together a website with all sources that i found so far (working ones) and also added website monitoring to it so you know beforehand if the site is up or down.

please check it out at http://dottoremoe.com/synology-package- ... e-monitor/

feedback is welcome / additional sources please send too so i can update them all (so far i have 30 sources)

cheers

@docmoe
Good initiative! :D It would be really nice if it could detect if it contains packages or not. Currently there are a couple of sources who don't contain packages:

Code: Select all

http://packages.mertymade.com/
http://packages.hoel.dk/
http://pcloadletter.comlu.com/
http://www.christoph-papke.de/spkrepo/spkrepo/packages/

There are also two redundant repos present:

Code: Select all

http://cbo.netau.net/synopackages/ -> http://synobox.fr.nf/synopackages/
http://update.10trum.de/packageupdate/getpackages.php  -> https://www.cphub.net/packages.php

This one isn't in the list:

Code: Select all

https://packages.filebot.net/syno/
My DSM 6.0-6.1 VPN check-reconnect script can be found here: https://github.com/DcR-NL/synology-vpn-reconnect
[DS713+ & DX213 w/ 3x3.0TB (SHR) & 1.5TB & 4GB DDR3-1333 (most recent stable DSM)]

Redundant isn't exactly the right wording. As described elsewhere it moved to the new domain when it became more popular. The new site also is https encrypted by default. So I would prefer a renaming in the list.

Synology Package Sources

Postby SynoSin » Sun Mar 01, 2015 10:40 pm

Spent a couple hours compiling a complete working list of repositories:

After writing this post and checking hours later a couple were already inaccessible. I wrote up a small script to do a simple connectivity check and automatically enter the online sites into the Synology and report the offline to a file. You just create a file with a list of URLs to the package sites and let it do the rest.

feeds-update.sh

Code: Select all

################################################################################
# VERSION   1.0
# DATE      March 1, 2015
# PURPOSE   Test connectivity synology package feeds from master list and
#      automatically update system feeds list
################################################################################

# Edit FEEDLIST entry to point to file with simple url list on your NAS
# ie
#    https://www.cphub.net/
#    http://spk.synologyitalia.com/
#    http://packages.mdevries.org/
#    ...
export FEEDLIST="/volume1/<YourShareHERE>/feeds-list.txt"
#Edit OFFLINEFEEDLIST path for results log, change to /dev/null if you dont care
export OFFLINEFEEDLIST="/volume1/<YourShareHERE>/feeds-list-offline.txt"
export TMPONLINEFEEDS="/tmp/online-feeds"
export FEEDS="/usr/syno/etc/packages/feeds"

# Rudimentary website test to see of its accessible and serving something..
#    - Does not mean its a VALID package server
rm -f $TMPONLINEFEEDS
rm -f $OFFLINEFEEDLIST

#Setting timeout too low threw false positives
while read in; do wget --no-check-certificate --timeout 45 -q "$in" -O - &>/dev/null && echo "$in" >> $TMPONLINEFEEDS || echo "$in" >> $OFFLINEFEEDLIST; done < $FEEDLIST

# Read the ONLINE feeds list and populate working feeds file in JSON format
printf "[" > $FEEDS
while read in; do printf "{\"feed\":\"$in\",\"name\":\"$in\"}", >> $FEEDS; done < $TMPONLINEFEEDS
# Cut off trailing comma ","
sed -i '$s/,$//' $FEEDS
printf "]" >> $FEEDS
chmod 644 $FEEDS

#Pseudo notification for script completion hijacked from a random benign notification event
/usr/syno/bin/synonotify LocalRecoverFinished

Change FEEDLIST and OFFLINEFEEDLIST in the code to point to a valid path on your Synology.

Goto [Control Panel] > [Task Scheduler] > [Create] > [User-defined Scripts], enter "Package Sites Update" or something logical in [Task], Uncheck [Enabled] (we want only to manually run when we want), enter "/volume1/<YouShareHERE>/feeds-update.sh" in [Run Command], click [OK], Select the new task and hit [RUN]. The script will throw a "Local Restoration is Complete" notification when its finished. Its just a notification I randomly picked so I know when its done without using any extra notification addons.

Thanks for this SynoSin. I initially had a lot of trouble making the script work because I used Windows Notepad but I eventually realised it was not creating the correct End-of-Line characters. As soon as I switched editors (UltraEdit) it worked perfectly. I think Wordpad would have been as well. Through this process I only just discovered DSM has its own built in editor so next time I'll that

Thanks again,
Z

This is a great thread, but it would be nice if a pinned post like this would have the first post up to date so that people could get the relevant data up front. Here is my server:

http://www.hildinger.us/sspks

I have Minecraft and Craftbukkit here.

Here is my repo.
http://isulnara.com/synology/
This repo contains only one SPK that controls Orvibo's WiWo-S20 (Wireless Remote Control AC Electrical Power Outlet Plug Switch Socket).

Set up also a SPK repo:

https://synopacks.de/

At the moment it contains only the package for a Linux tool I've been always desperately missing on my Synology NAS, the famous 'less' tool. :D

Have fun,
