Package Sources!

Unread post by shareonline » Thu Mar 15, 2012 12:12 pm

Hi All.
I think it would be an awesome idea to start a thread, make it sticky, and then paste all the 3rd party package sources we can find in here..

So here we go, these are the sources i could find:

Synoblog:
http://synopkg.superzebulon.org/spkrepo/packages

MertyMade:
http://packages.mertymade.com/

PC Load Letter
http://packages.pcloadletter.co.uk
EDIT: This source has been updated on request from pcloadletter! There were some issues that have been resolved now:)

Does Package Center only show software that can be installed on that particular Synology box? Example being Plex would show on a DS712+, but not on a DS212j because of the different processor architecture.

You have put the link in your Package Center, not open it in your browser.

His site is here : http://mertymade.com/syno/

Oops ! The post I replied to is gone ?

Well, I've got a DS212j and I don't see a 'Plex' package ...

Yes. The list is filtered. And the newer Intel units have difference CPU designations (bromolow, cedarview) which are obviously still x86 family, but they only list packages specifically for them. So my x86 packages have had to be rebuilt to feature these names too. Other authors may not yet have made this kind of update, which may be why Plex is not showing up for you.
For my packages (Java, Serviio, CrashPlan, CrashPlan PRO, CrashPlan PROe, Minecraft, Craftbukkit, OpenRemote, and Bliss), add my repo URL to Package Center: http://packages.pcloadletter.co.uk

This is a great idea. I have all these package sources enabled already, but good to have them available in one place.

It may also be worth posting links to available Synology packages (.spk) that can be installed via Package Manager. Here are some that I have found:

Subsonic - http://www.eg-blog.de/?page_id=93
Plex - http://plexapp.com/linux/linux-pms-download.php

Which package doesn't work ??
You should be able to use SickBeard and CouchPotato, they are not packaged for a specific CPU.
The info on his site says : Arch: noarch

Your Package Center only shows the packages that are suitable for your processor.

AFAIK, the Plex package is Intel CPUs only. DS212j uses ARM. See here for Synology CPU type list.

This is an excellent new repo with some of the popular packages such as SABnzbd, Sickbeard etc well integrated (including auto config of post-processing scripts). I believe this also replaces the SuperZebulon package source...

http://forum.synology.com/enu/viewtopic ... 90&t=50593

The packages at last check:

CouchPotato
Headphones
NZB Config
NZBGet
Python
SABnzbd
SickBeard
Transmission
uMurmur
ZNC

Installation guide is here: http://www.synocommunity.com/faq#addSource

This is my own repository, this contains the package AutoSub (Automated bierdopje.com subtitle download written in Python!)

This package works with Python version 2.6.6-5 from Zeblon and Python version 2.7.2-1 from SynoCommunity.

Use this repository if you use Python 2.7.2: http://synology.mdevries.org
Use this repository if you use Python 2.6.6: http://synology.mdevries.org/python26

In Package Center, other sources, settings. Can a toggle box be added to enable or disable manually added package sources?
