I've updated the package to verion 0.2.9.9 :

I'll have a look at it when I'm done working on some new packages that are just about ready for release. :)

I've released an updated package today for version 0.2.9.10. It has a few other goodies as well, such as DSM 6.1 compatibility, support for SRM 1.1 and the RT2600ac router, and a couple of other arches.

Since the 0.3 series of the Tor binary are in release candidate, this will probably be my last release of the 0.2 series.

I haven't. I primarily started my work to provide packages for SRM. Because there wasn't a recent tor package for DSM, I added it to my releases. SRM doesn't work with repositories. I don't have the means to provide (pay for) the infrastructure that would enable distributing my packages trough a repository.

The problem is that you have entered the IP of your router, instead of the local ip of your synology. Thus tor is trying to assign a port to an ip the machine does not have. Change the IP entry to the one you want Tor listening on.

Tor now suggest to upgrade to 0.3.0.10 (current release), so do you have plans to upgrade package?

Tor will always suggest to update to the latest package. Tor for DSM/SRM is a not-for-profit hobby project, so releases are done when time is available, which is often at a premium during the summer months (I do like to get out to get some some fresh air from time to time... )

That being said, I've updated the Tor package to 0.3.0.10 yesterday: https://synopackages.wordpress.com/2017/08/28/tor-0-3-0-10-for-synology-nas-and-router/

Great work!

Just installed latest version on my ds213 (DSM 6.1)

Have one issue. Tor package is always "starting..." in package manager. Can't do anything with it except "kill" in ssh.
Is it possible to fix it somehow? Or i missed something in configuration?

Thanks.

Try uninstalling the package completely and reinstalling. If it doesn't help, have a look at what the start-stop-status script does :

Code: Select all

/var/packages/tor/scripts/start-stop-status status
/var/packages/tor/scripts/start-stop-status start
/var/packages/tor/scripts/start-stop-status stop

and send me the output in a private message.

also send me the output on :

Code: Select all

uname -a
