SSPKS Package Server

Postby colin1497 » Wed Feb 10, 2016 4:10 pm

The original project is here:

https://github.com/jdel/sspks

I forked it and updated the list of NAS models last year, here:

https://github.com/colin1497/sspks

I don't really want to take over this project, but the old owner jdel hasn't merged updates in forever, including my model updates, so maybe my fork may be the most current, and I have not included the newest NAS models. If anyone wants to help, please feel free to. I know we're missing new NAS models, for instance.

This is the file that needs updated:

https://github.com/colin1497/sspks/blob ... odels.conf

I'll admit that I'm too lazy to go through the model list, but I'll merge the updates into my fork if someone wants to provide me a list.

I couldn't bear the state the project was in, so I merged different improvements, then got into a coding mood and now ended up with a completely overhauled fork:

Comments and bug reports are appreciated.

Hi Markus,

currently I'm wandering around on the internet to find a version of SSPKS which works with DSM6. Apparently the legacy build from Jdel's Github doesn't do the trick.
I noticed that you guy's are working on the continuation of SSPKS in a more advanced way. That's great!

I have some spk files which I want to add to an repo hosted on my DS115 (Armada375). Unfortunately you closes down your github. Do you know where I can find the source files of the git? Or do you still have it?
Thanks in advance,

Martin

I collaborated with Julien and we merged all improvements back into his repository: https://github.com/jdel/sspks

I'm not sure whether he has a SPK package of it somewhere, but you should be able to download it to a directory on your Web Station and work from there.

Hi Markus,

thanks for the quick reply.

If you're pointing at the legacy version, that's the version that gives me the problem. Somehow this version isn't compatible with dsm6. Most user can install the repo url, but the package is not showing up.
Thing is that I myself have no problem. Entering the repo url on my nas, which is hosting the repo as well, works as expected. Package shows up!

You want the "master" branch from that repository. That's the one that's up-to-date and compatible with DSM6.

Hello,

I have installed SSPKS on my Synology DS716+II but I face several issues :
- http error 500 when calling the page "index.php?arch=braswell"
- "incorrect location" when adding the new package source http://<myserver>/sspks in the preferences packages

The homepage and the full package list pages are both OK.
Any idea of the origin of this problem ?

Looking at the source, I have found a selftest.php page.
Running this selftest.php I have the below messages (not sure if this page can detect where my issue is) :
- Please install/enable the php-phar extension.
- Please make the cache/ directory writeable for the web server process.
- Please make the cache/ directory writeable for the web server process.
- Please make the cache/ directory writeable for the web server process (also allow deletions).

Any help is welcome :)

Did you try any of these suggestions?

I have just seen this topic for the first time.

It is true that sspks is not maintained on a regular basis, due to a lack of time, and to the fact that I don't personally use it anymore.

However, should there be a bug, or if I haven't updated the devices list, simply raise an issue on Github:
https://github.com/jdel/sspks/issues/new

Also, I need to mention that i completely re-wrote sspks in Go lately. It's way easier to run, very lightweight, docker friendly, and it is available at https://github.com/jdel/gosspks
