DS apps not connecting

Afternoon all, I have been using Synology for several years now with no issues... till now.

Apps I use: DS file, DS Audio & SynoDS all on iOS 9.3 & 10
Synology model: DS210j 8 odd years old
DSM: 5.2-5967 Update 3

Last couple of months I am getting dropped connections off my laptop on the local LAN with NAS as if one has simply stopped talking to the other! I have to pull the RJ45 cable out the laptop, wait a few seconds & plug it back in.. DS pops back up & i carry on.
A few weeks ago I decided to upgrade the DS as figured it was getting old & no longer keeping up. I started to bring the DSM up to date (as much as it will go) before I move the Hard drive out in to the new DS (latest DS216j 2 Bay + 4TB new HD) which is still in the box it arrived in (been busy).
Last few days none of my apps seem to be able to connect via the DDNS which I have checked router IP/No-IP & DS IP which all are in sync.
I have not changed any of the firewall ports/settings in the router since they were set up 3 odd years ago when i had "new" sky fibre installed.
Apps do connect if i use the LAN log in (inside my home network) but take anywhere up to 20 seconds to connect where before it was pretty instant.

I am now wondering if the HD in the old bay will be OK to transfer to new one, if any of my settings will transfer to new one... and if i will keep having these connection issues :0(

u connect via DDNS or quick connect?
have you check open ports using port check website?

Via DDNS, never used quick connect as a recent addition that i have never used.
I never changed the ports since i set them up 3 odd years ago, everything was working fine till recently.
No other network changes.

port check on my current Routers IP address which is all synced with router/DS/DDNS

Outbound
5000- open DS audio
5555- open File station
5005- open DS File
8800- open DS Audio 2
21- open general DS/FTP
20 - CLOSED
22- CLOSED

inbound
5005- open DS File
5000- open DS Audio
5555- Open File station
8800- open DS audio 2
21- open general DS/FTP

in control panel...
default port in DSM settings (Network):
port 5000

Security:- Firewall rules All are enabled & ticked.
I have just noticed that port 8800 which DSM wants for DS audio is not one i have set up, so just set it up & is open.

I am not sure if DSM has changed its required ports during a DSM update recently (recent for me as my DS was left in the dark ages for years!). Even though I have checked the ports, My Apps still wont connect. I can only connect via home LAN with the laptop or eventually via home LAN on the apps.. which used to be pretty instant, takes a while to log in now.

u never say if you test using port check tool. ur router have this built in? post screenshot

used this web site & plugged each port in to test.

No my Sky Fibre router doesnt have a port test tool.

Question..... Has Quick Connect replaced DDNS? I have no set up/enabled the quickconnect & logged in with my Synology UN/PW.
used the quickconnect info on apps outside my home LAN and they are now connecting.
I will test more tomorrow when i am using my mobile wifi at work.

QC not replace DDNS. They run separately. QC will use your open port so it prefer option for Synology app as login easier

App still not connecting today via QC or DDNS
Really am lost as to why.
Later today I am upgrading/migrating the old to the new DS.
Loosing access while not at home is a big deal for me as i use the server daily while not at home
